Middle School Arts
Our Middle School Arts programming provides opportunities for creative exploration and personal growth as students discover and develop their own unique voice through a variety of artistic avenues.
During sixth grade, Middle School students experience a broad introduction to the arts through a fine arts rotation course, with some sixth-grade students choosing to take an additional course in strings during the school day. Our seventh- and eighth-grade students can choose from a variety of courses in the arts, including Piano, Strings, Drama, and Show Choir as well as courses in the visual arts. Beginning in seventh grade, students who have a strong interest in music can audition for Montverde’s Music Conservatory.
In addition to participating in art classes, many of our Middle School students are involved in the arts beyond the school day by performing in the Show Choir, taking part in Drama productions on the W. Daniel Mills Stage in Lindor Hall, participating in Thespian festivals as a member of Junior International Thespian Society, and pursuing private instrumental lessons through the Community Music School at Montverde.
