Honorary Societies
Participating in honorary societies and service organizations is a mark of achievement for Montverde Academy students, demonstrating high levels of academic achievement and leadership skill development.
CUM LAUDE SOCIETY
The Cum Laude Society, considered to be the equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa in high schools, inducts the top 15% of the graduating class who have demonstrated excellence in academics, citizenship and community.
INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY
Qualifying students earn an invitation on the basis of excellence in the academic, service, and production work in the school’s theatre program.
MU ALPHA THETA
Qualifying students have demonstrated excellent academic achievement in the study of college preparatory mathematics.
NATIONAL ARTS HONOR SOCIETY
Qualifying students have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Qualifying students have an overall academic excellence, good character, leadership potential and have demonstrated service to the school.
NATIONAL CHINESE HONOR SOCIETY
The National Chinese Honor Society (NCHS) is dedicated to the advancement of Chinese language study in public and independent secondary schools and is sponsored by the national Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS).
SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Qualifying students have good overall academic achievement, with specific excellence in science curriculum. They should also exhibit good behavior, service to the school and community, and be of good character.
QUILL & SCROLL SOCIETY
Qualifying students have demonstrated outstanding service and participation in the Yearbook, Literary Magazine or School Newspaper.
SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPÁNICA
Qualifying students have demonstrated excellent academic achievement in the study of the Spanish language.
TRI-M HONOR SOCIETY
The chapters’ purpose shall be to inspire music participation, to generate enthusiasm for scholorship, to stimulate a desire to render service, and to promote leadership among the music students of this school.
Service Organizations
Disciplinary Committee Students are chosen to hear discipline cases and make a recommendation to the Headmaster and Dean of Students.
Honor Council Students are chosen to judge, deliberate and decide cases in which students have allegedly violated the Academy Honor Code.
Prefect Council Students are chosen to lead the student body in campus life and to be a role model on campus and in the dormitories.
Student Government Association Students are chosen to represent their grade-level constituents in improving the quality of school life.
