Dual Enrollment Program with University of Florida
Dual Enrollment is an exciting opportunity for Montverde Academy students to access university-level courses at the University of Florida (UF) online. The partnership with UF provides a variety of general education classes and challenging electives from different colleges at UF to MVA students for high school and college credit.
Students who meet eligibility requirements can take one or two classes per semester in their junior and senior years, earning as many as 24 credit hours or more. Select available courses are eligible to meet UF core course graduation requirements and/or any Florida state university program course requirement. Coupled with Montverde Academy’s robust Advanced Placement program, students have outstanding opportunities to prepare for college-level work and earn college credit.
Students enrolled in the UF partnership take a minimum of five MVA academic courses and may participate in one or two UF online courses. Students with abbreviated academic schedules associated with training programs may take UF courses on a case-by-case basis in collaboration with the Dean of the Upper School. There are a wide variety of classes from core courses in Social Science, Humanities, Biology, Physical Science, Math, and Composition to engaging, challenging electives – see the full list HERE.
Montverde Academy students in grades 11 and 12 can enroll in University of Florida Dual Enrollment Classes. These are college courses in which students can earn credit towards their high school diploma at MVA for a modest cost per credit that is added to the tuition schedule.
