On Friday, December 8, the Upper School children’s theatre class performed the musical “Annie” for students in the Lower School during the school day. In this introductory theatre class, under the direction of Mr. Adrian Wright-Ahern, students are responsible for their own choreography, gathering props and costumes, and acting. These plays are a treat for the actors and audience members alike every semester. Lower School students will definitely be caught singing “It’s a Hard-Knock Life” for years to come!
“This was the best group of students for children’s theatre in my memory,” said Mr. Ahern. “They were invested 100 percent, and they took ownership of the production. Nobody was trying to be the star—they were all looking out for the greater good. This course is their introduction to theatre, which makes what they did even more impressive.”
