The Dance Conservatory at Montverde Academy is designed to parallel the Music and Theatre Conservatories as an intensive experience for those students seeking to elevate their dance technique to a level designed for further study at a collegiate or professional dance level. Students will master dance techniques in multiple disciplines building versatility to perform in every aspect of dance while gaining hands-on experience through recitals and performances in conjunction with the Music and Theatre Conservatories.
Our training teaches students to not merely be technically proficient, but artistically and creatively proficient. The ability to critically engage in the cultural, historical, and aesthetic contexts of dance as an art form leads to an understanding and facility for realizing and interpreting music for performance at a high level.
We support students with an energized community of working professional artists and designers who share their expertise, experiences, and passion for the art of dance. Our faculty, staff, and students work toward a common goal of creating an environment that encourages artistic, intellectual, and personal growth.
How to Audition
All Conservatory Applicants
All students must complete and submit an admission application with supporting documents to the Admission Office in addition to a completed audition application. No student may audition until both completed applications are received. All students must demonstrate sight reading skills on their instrument and audition in appropriate attire: smart business wear for both men and women. Music may be submitted in advance, well-marked copies may be brought to the audition, or you may bring your own accompanist.
Auditions can be scheduled by completing the audition form online. Contact the Enrollment Management department to begin your school application.
Once both completed applications are received, your audition date and time will be scheduled.
