Students in EA SPORTS Gaming at MVA Experienced 3D Maya and ZBrush Lessons at The Dave School at Universal Studios

By Dr. Caryn Long, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation

On Friday, February 17, students from EA SPORTS Gaming at MVA attended the Dash of DAVE 3D Maya and ZBrush lessons training at their site. The Digital Animation and Visual Effects (DAVE) School is located on the Universals Studio back lot and provides students from all over the world an opportunity to train in Visual Effects with extensive practice under industry-level supervision. The Game Production program followed 13 years later in September of 2014, making it the school’s second program.

Students who participated in the event learned the basics of 3D modeling in a program called Maya and 3D sculpting through ZBrush. The class included the practical, hands-on application of these programs and awarded students with a certificate of completion at the end of the day where they also learned about more opportunities through the DAVE School.

EA SPORTS Gaming at MVA capitalizes on opportunities like this one for our students to learn more about the esports industry. For more information on how to enter the EA Sports Gaming at MVA program, contact the director, Dr. Caryn Long.
