Sixth Graders Welcome the Class of 2030 to the Middle School

By Mrs. Sara Parets, Sixth-Grade English Teacher

We welcomed the current fifth graders to the Middle School today. The Class of 2030 spent time with volunteers from the sixth-grade class learning about Middle School life and getting tips on how to succeed.

Henrique, Evan, Lucas, Myra, Mia, Ella P, Natalie, Talei, Sophia, Gabriel, Michaela, Journey, Alejandra, and Carson volunteered to create a welcome mural with sidewalk chalk for the fifth graders this morning.

After the fifth graders arrived, Joshua, Maria P, Munsif, and Jaxson shared thoughts on organization and how to manage a busy life well. Alejandra, Ella D., Jayden, and Keira talked about academics and shared details on how they earned high-honor throughout their first middle school year. Ella H., Zoe, and Tierney explained how new students will create new opportunities for friendship and gave advice for avoiding drama while making new friends. Trey and Stelle explained how citizenship works in middle school, how to avoid infractions, and how to earn Excellent Citizenship. Charlie, Caleb, Megan, and Ella P. shared some of the many opportunities students will have to get involved in: clubs, plays, and athletics in middle school.

After enjoying lunch with the Middle School, fifth graders relaxed with Middle School recess!
