NFC Raises $21,000 for Cancer Research
By: Pavlos Tentomas, Class of 2022
This year at Night For the Cure, we had a mission. A mission to rise up as individuals and as a collective community with our Commitment to Courage. We were able to put together a wonderful event for our survivors and their families, as the feedback has been spectacularly positive. We were able to raise approximately $21,000 for our partnered institutions: UF Shands, The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation, and Cornerstone Hospice.
The NFC Team would like to thank our many Angel and Corporate Sponsors, Outback Steakhouse, the MVA Maintenance Department, Gloria James Rentals, and the MVA Varsity Weightlifting Team for their overwhelming support. To all the students who volunteered and participated in this year’s event, you have our sincere gratitude. You brought the fun and liveliness to Night For the Cure; the event would never have been the same without you.
Having served as the Director of NFC for three years, with this year being my last, I’m so very proud of how MVA united under this common cause. Furthermore, I feel truly grateful to have worked with this wonderful NFC Student Team, and I’m truly going to miss the camaraderie when I depart for university. Nevertheless, I have complete faith that NFC will continue its legacy of strength, determination, and success in the years to come.
