MVA Track & Field Team Ends Season with Three State Champions

MVA’s Track & Field team achieved an outstanding season, culminating on May 8 at the State of Florida meet. The team earned three individual State Champion titles! Lily Henne, a junior, won the girls 1600m (5:01), Weston Baptiste, a senior, won the boys 400m (:47), and Alex Georgiev, a freshman standout, won in boys pole vault (15’5).

Baptiste also medaled in the 100m and 200m with sixth and fifth place finishes respectfully, while Henne earned second place in the 3200m. Kendyl Cardwell, senior, ran earned a personal record to place fourth overall in the 1600m. Tori Bulford-Trott medaled in the girls 100m and 200m races, finishing fifth and seventh in those events.

Kai Eisenhardt, a senior, earned a silver in the girls pole vault, followed by Ashley Conklin who won bronze. Kyle Johnson placed seventh in the boys long jump.

The MVA Eagles earned a number of top finishes which placed the girls team in third place overall and boys securing a fifth place finish overall.
