On Saturday, December 14, Montverde Academy’s campus came alive with the spirit of the season as students, families, employees, and alumni gathered for Holiday Fest. Sponsored by the sophomore class SGA and faculty advisors, this event was a wonderful success that brought the entire MVA community together for an evening of fun, food, and unforgettable performances.
The campus transformed into a winter wonderland. Families enjoyed carriage rides and captured cherished memories with Mr. and Mrs. Claus in the Innovation Center. Near the Bell Tower, snowman bounce houses, a gingerbread house slide, and holiday games provided endless entertainment. Guests also made arts and crafts, had their caricatures sketched, sipped freshly brewed coffee from Just Love Coffee, and enjoyed cotton candy.
The Senior Courtyard became a cozy gathering spot, complete with a campfire for roasting s’mores and a hot cocoa station. The cookie decorating station was a big hit, and the cake walk brought excitement and sweet rewards. Parents, employees, and students donated baked items for the cake walk. Prizes were awarded for the best items. Marli Ohlrich won third place for her white Christmas cake, Journey Jones came in second place with her snowman cupcakes, and Mary Kelsey won the first-place prize for her stunning Rice Krispies Bell Tower cake. All proceeds from the cake walk will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Guests enjoyed the savory options from Taco Frank, The Big Hot Box, and Chill in Tacos, while Kona Ice and Churros and Cream satisfied their sweet tooth.
The Fine Arts Conservatories hosted two captivating holiday concerts in the Sandra O. Stephens Auditorium. The performances featured three acts: “Holiday Joy,” “Christmas Romance,” and “Lessons & Carols.” After the performances, families gathered at the Lower School playground to watch “The Grinch” as they enjoyed popcorn and snuggled under their blankets beneath the stars.
From the festive activities to the amazing performances (and even some enchanting snow!), every moment captured the magic of the holiday season while bringing the MVA community closer together. We’d like to thank the sophomore class SGA and faculty advisors, other MVA community volunteers, and the 2025 Holiday Fest Planning Committee—Mrs. Margaret Price, Ms. Kalena Meyers, Mrs. Mary-Kay Rath, and Mr. Dean Bell—for helping to make this event a great success. We hope that everyone will continue to have a happy and safe holiday season with family and friends.
