Middle School Thanks Custodial Staff
MVA’s Class of 2027 showed their appreciation to our amazing custodial staff from Gebauer Hall and Lindor Hall, Pedro Rivera, Evelyn Cambrelen, and Elizabeth Velazquez before school was out.
“All year long, our maintenance staff has come in hours before the sun rose to help keep us safe and continue in-classroom learning,” said Mrs. Sara Parets, Middle School English and writing teacher. “Rain, tropical storms and cold didn’t stop them. They have been the first to arrive, sanitizing, sweeping, and cleaning our learning spaces so that we could be face to face. While we moved from class to class, they worked hard to clean doors, hallways, restrooms, and water fountains. When we had to eat in the rooms due to rain, they were right there with extra garbage bags to clean up after us. At every step of our journey, they have been one step ahead of us doing the hard work to keep us healthy.”
The entire sixth grade made cards and brought in gifts of appreciation. “We just wanted to say thank you for all that you have done for us this year,” said MVA student Akylah Shirley. “To show our appreciation, the whole sixth-grade class wanted to recognize you.”
