Lower School Donates Blankets to Local Elderly
Lower School students in second through fifth grades made hand-tied fleece blankets for the non-profit organization – LovExtension, which provides a number of services for the elderly and disabled in Lake County including, food, social visits, gently used medical equipment, and connections to local resources. Students made more than 150 blankets which were donated and will be distributed to seniors throughout Lake County.
“This was a great project for our students to do in the classroom that continues our connection to community,” said Ms. Meristell Shackelford, Dean of the Lower School. “While we aren’t doing field trips or hosting visitors, community and contributing to our community continues to be a focus for us, so we’re thrilled that our students took this project on to help others. Our thanks to Linda Krupski, LovExtension Founder, who has been a great partner.”
