Embracing School Spirit: Senior Class SGA President Reflects on Homecoming and Spirit Week

By Sara Zona, Senior Class SGA President

Thank you for all of those that attended homecoming and participated in Spirit Week! Thank you to all the Upper School students who responded to the Spirit Week, Pep Rally, and Homecoming Dance feedback form. We received 470 responses! SGA and AALC will review your recommendations for next year’s events. We loved seeing all the high energy during pep rally and our “Mardi Gras” dance.

I also wanted to thank SGA, junior class advisors, Ms. Helm, Mrs. Price, Mrs. Napoles, and all those that helped volunteer. It was great seeing AALC put together such an amazing pep rally and partner with SGA to plan the spirit week dress-up themes. I loved seeing everyone in their Barbie and Ken outfits, especially during the pep rally dance.

As your Senior Class President, I can’t wait for the upcoming senior events that we have planned for the end of the year. One thing I’m excited to start planning is Senior Sunset Social. Be on the lookout for potential dates. Let’s continue making new memories!

Here are some quotes from students regarding last weeks activities:

“The pep rally was very fun. I loved the flash mob – it was very different compared to previous years. The homecoming dance was also fun. I had fun seeing my friends, and I particularly loved the props the DJ used.” – Melany Wernick (senior)

“The music was good, very upbeat. Spirit Week was fun – the themes were really good. I enjoyed dressing up and being creative.” – Emily Mitchell (freshman)
