The sophomore team member did this by being the first team member in Montverde Academy girls’ weightlifting history to qualify for the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state championship.
Friedman did this by having one of the top twenty scores in the traditional category amongst all girls’ weightlifters in her weight class in the entire state of Florida.
Competing in the 139 pound class, Friedman tied for the eighteenth highest score in all the regions combined to qualify. She finished tied for fourth in the Region 3 championship specifically with a score of 260 (125 bench, 135 clean & jerk).
