Q: What is Montverde Academy’s current tuition?

Q: Is Financial Aid available at Montverde Academy?

Montverde Academy offers qualified students the opportunity to attend the Academy despite financial circumstances. Financial Aid awards are based on the family’s financial need and availability of funds. Families must demonstrate financial need under the guidelines set by FACTS and submit all required documents by the Financial Aid deadlines. Q: I am applying for financial aid. Will Montverde Academy manage my application any differently?

It is important to note that all applicants are evaluated with no distinction made between applicants who are applying for financial aid and those who are not applying for financial aid.

Q: Does Montverde Academy accept government scholarships or awards?

As an independent educational institution, Montverde Academy does not accept state or federal government-funded scholarships or awards.

Q: Does Montverde Academy offer merit-based or athletic scholarships?

No, Montverde Academy does not offer athletic or merit-based scholarships. Though families may apply for need-based financial assistance, we do not offer scholarships on the basis of ability or talent.

Q: What does Montverde Academy look for in a candidate?

The Admission Committee evaluates applicants on the basis of the application form, the applicant’s academic and social history, school and teacher recommendations, and admission test scores. Criteria for admission are also dependent upon the ability and desire to commit to a challenging, academic, college preparatory program and the applicant’s desire to attend Montverde Academy.

Q: Does Montverde Academy offer learning accommodations?

Montverde Academy offers a challenging academic college preparatory program. We do offer reasonable accommodations to students with documented learning needs.

Q: Do I need to visit Montverde Academy’s campus? How do I arrange a campus tour?

A campus tour is important to the admission process because it allows you and your family to see yourselves as part of the Montverde Academy community. We offer a wide range of tour options, from individual tours to large open houses. Contact the Admission Office at 407-469-2561 to schedule your tour today.

Q: Do I need to come to Montverde Academy for an interview?

Interviews are conducted for applicants in grades 9-12. Please contact the Admission Office to schedule an interview at 407-469-2561.

Q: What if I am unable to interview personally on campus?

If the applicant is unable to visit the Academy for the interview, a virtual option will be discussed.

Q: When is the application deadline? When will I be notified of the admission decision?

Montverde Academy offers rolling admissions and welcomes applications from families throughout the year. Due to the competitive nature of the admission process, we suggest that families apply one full year prior to the year their child would enter the Academy. Once the applicant file is complete with the required documents, the Admission Committee reviews the file for acceptance.

Q: What is the application fee?

The application fee is $100 for U.S. residents and international students. This fee is non-refundable.

Q: What tests are required for admission?

The Admission Assessment for applicants applying for grades Pre-K3-5 is scheduled individually by the Admission Office once an application has been submitted.

Applicants for grades Pre-K3-5 are required to take our in-house Lower School assessment.

Applicants for grades 6-12 are required to register for the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). If you have taken the PSAT, ACT, or SAT, you may submit the test score instead of the SSAT to the Admission Office.

SSAT registration and test information is available at www.ssat.org or you may call SSAT at 609-683-4440. The Montverde Academy SSAT code number is 5160. Scores are submitted by the testing agency.

It is recommended for international applicants to submit a TOEFL or Duolingo test score. The Montverde Academy TOEFL code number is 3628.

International students in grades 9-12 must also take a Seton Testing Math Placement Test which can be taken online.

All submitted test scores must be recent or from the past school year.

Q: When can I enter Montverde Academy?

Montverde Academy offers enrollment to students in grades Pre-K3 through 12 and Post Graduate. Enrollment for full-year is in the Fall. Please contact the Admission Office regarding mid-year entry.

Q: Is a Post Graduate year offered at Montverde Academy?

Montverde Academy offers a Post Graduate year for qualified students. Typically, these students take senior-level courses for one year to strengthen their academics before beginning college.

Q: How old does my child have to be to enter Pre-Kindergarten? Kindergarten?

In order to enter Pre-K3, the student must be 3 years of age by September 1st of the school year for which he or she is applying. In order to enter Pre-K4, the student must be 4 years of age by September 1st of the school year for which he or she is applying. To enter Kindergarten, the student must be 5 years of age by September 1st of the school year for which he or she is applying. Students must be potty trained.

Q: My child is in the wait pool. What happens now?

We may not always have space for our qualified applicants. Therefore, some applicants may be placed in the wait pool. If your son or daughter is in the wait pool, it is important to keep the lines of communication open. You will be notified as spaces become available. If, at any point, you decide to enroll your child at another school, please contact the Admission Office so that we can remove your child’s name from the wait pool.

Q: How many students attend Montverde Academy?

The opening enrollment for 2022-2023 was 1,325 students. We have over 250 boarding students from over 60 nationalities.

Q: Where do Montverde Academy graduates go to college?

Montverde Academy graduates attend a variety of colleges and universities all around the country and the world. Please browse the College Guidance page for more specific information about the colleges our graduates select.

Q: What is the student-to-faculty ratio at Montverde Academy?

The student-to-faculty ratio is 17:1 at Montverde Academy.

Q: How do I receive an I-20 from Montverde Academy?

Should an acceptance be offered, Montverde Academy issues the I-20 document once the Admission Office has received the signed enrollment contract and the non-refundable enrollment deposit.

Q: I already have an I-20. How do I transfer my I-20 to Montverde Academy?

Q: What type of Visa do I need to attend Montverde Academy?

An F-1 Visa is required to attend Montverde Academy.

Q: Is Montverde Academy an accredited school?

Montverde Academy accreditations include:

  • Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS)
  • Cognia (SACS/AdvancedED)
  • Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS)

Q: Is my child required to have a physical?

Students enrolled at Montverde Academy are required to have an updated physical each year. This information is included in the Enrollment Forms which are sent to enrolled students prior to the start of each school year.

Q: Are uniforms required?

Yes, uniforms are required at Montverde Academy. There are two sets of uniforms for students in grades 6-12 and one set for students in grades Pre-K3-5. The Dress Uniform for grades 6-12 is worn on Wednesdays and to formal events. A more casual uniform, which includes an MVA polo shirt with either a khaki or black pant/short/skort or a plaid or gray skort, is worn Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Students in grades Pre-K3-5 wear the casual uniform during the school week. At times when uniform dress isn’t required, informal dress in good taste is the norm.
