Students in Mrs. Chris Burrell’s robotics and engineering classes have been busy putting their skills to the test while embracing the holiday spirit.
The VEX Robotics students put their engineering knowledge to work in a festive challenge: loading Santa’s sleigh! The goal? Load as many “snowballs” and competition rings as possible into the sleigh in just one minute!
The VEX competition team showcased their ingenuity with a mobile goal mechanism and a conveyor hook system, skillfully intaking and flipping rings into the sleigh. Meanwhile, the robotics class operated clawbots, using their claws to grab and place snowballs with precision.
Students also combined their creativity with their knowledge of electricity and construction to build something truly magical: gingerbread house prototypes! But these weren’t your average holiday decorations — each house had to meet some exciting engineering criteria.
This project was a fusion of problem-solving and holiday fun, with students wiring circuits, crafting creative designs, and building houses that were both functional and festive.
