Christian Huynh was selected as the 2024 Florida state winner of the national Bonnie Plants Third-Grade Cabbage Program for his 18.2-pound cabbage. As the state winner, Christian will receive special recognition for his efforts in growing his winning cabbage, as well as a $1,000 scholarship.
“Christian’s cabbage was quite impressive! Here at Bonnie Plants, we know it takes commitment and attention to plant, care for, and grow a cabbage to the size and quality Christian was able to achieve,” said Savannah Burgess, Third-Grade Cabbage Program Director.
“In my 19 years of having my students participate in this contest, this is my first state winner. It is also the first time we have had a state winner from Montverde Academy,” said Mrs. Pat Whiffen, Lower School science teacher.
