On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, school attorney Lori Smith delivered a presentation to underclassmen in the Upper School, emphasizing the importance of students safeguarding their online reputation by avoiding cyberbullying, hazing, or other illicit behaviors. She also discussed the value of students understanding how their online activities can have a lasting impact on their professional opportunities.
She challenged students to use social media to promote their image in a positive way and to think of their online presence as a live resume that showcases their accomplishments, reminding students that their online presence serves as a representation of themselves, their parents, and Montverde Academy.
Thursday was the first Senior Seminar of the year, which included the Senior Launch, a presentation by Lori Smith entitled “Social Media Legacy,” followed by a luncheon in the Student Center where seniors spent time with their friends and enjoyed pizza from Cal’s Kitchen, cookies, and other snacks.
