Catch Basketball Fever as MVA Eagles Head to GEICO High School Nationals
Basketball fever is in the air! Coach Kevin Boyle and our Eagles Varsity Basketball Team have been working hard for this moment, and it’s nearly here! The GEICO High School National Championship begins March 31 and runs through April 3 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Meyers, FL. The good news is that the teams are competing, the bad news is that it is a closed event, which means no fans in order to keep the student-athletes safe from COVID-19 concerns.
MVA has earned the top seed, earning a bye into the quarterfinals. Our Eagles take the court on Thursday, April 1, facing the winner of Pace Academy vs Oak Hill Academy. The game will be nationally televised on ESPNU at 4:00 p.m. The winner advances to the semi-finals on Friday, April 2 on ESPN2 at 4:30 p.m. Attached is a bracket with initial match-ups and game times, to follow all the action on GEICO Hoops and/or MVA Sports.
The final National Championship game is scheduled for noon on Saturday, April 3 and nationally televised on ESPN.
We wish our Eagles success and will be cheering them on! Go Eagles!
