MEDIA ARTS

The Montverde Academy Media Arts Program offers young, creative minds the opportunity to explore film and video production, and sports media.

Through instruction, hands-on experience, field trips, and interaction with industry professionals and broadcast organizations, students gain skills and knowledge to communicate passionately and excel in the creative media arts arena.

Beginning in Middle School, students participate in Media Arts through broadcast and media arts electives. Upper School students take classes such as TV Production, Filmmaking, and Sports Media. State-of-the-art facilities provide students with an engaging, technology-rich environment to gain experience in the field by capturing a variety of events hosted on campus.

With its award-winning “MVA Today” news show, students thrive in a “real world” working broadcast news environment, complete with story development, scriptwriting, reporting, and regular deadlines. In filmmaking, storytelling and communication remain the cornerstone of sharing the human experience while students gain an understanding of the filmmaking and production process. Both areas have earned recognition by CNN, CSPAN, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Palm Beach Student Showcase of Film, Bonita Springs International Film Festival, the Enzian Reel Short Teen Festival, and others.
