Mentoring Middle School Students Through Their First Exam Week

Members of NJHS remember how nerve-wracking the first time they took mid-term exams was. To help other students alleviate or least lesson their worries, NJHS members are mentoring sixth grade students in their preparation for exams.

Seventh- and eighth-grade volunteers remembers their own sixth-grade experience to come up with the best advice – what to to do and what to avoid – as we conclude the fall semester and wrap it up with exam week. Each group of NJHS members met with a small group of sixth-grade students to review the midterm schedule, share suggestions on how to prepare, and answer any questions to help allay fears.

NJHS plans to meet with each sixth-grade advisory group to help ensure that every student feels prepared to do their best.
