From Thursday, February 2 to Saturday, February 4, EagleMUN, the Upper School Model United Nations team, participated in the 44th Annual High School Model United Nations conference at Georgia Southern University (GSU). The GSU conference is one of the most elite conferences in the southeast. The GSU collegiate team is one of the highest ranked teams in the country. At their national competition, the GSU team has won Best Delegation nine times out of the past ten years. They bring their expertise and skills when hosting our students.
The conference attracted some of the most competitive high school teams from the region. Conferences of this caliber help our students rise to the next level. Our EagleMUN delegates performed wonderfully!
Students are required to research, debate, and compromise with the purpose of creating and voting on resolutions accurately reflecting their country’s positions in the United Nations. The competition goes from 8:30 in the morning through 9:00 at night on Thursday and Friday, with a half day on Saturday.
Many students attend the conference and never speak. This year, every single student rose multiple times to speak and advocate for the country they represented.
