At the end of January, three Upper School students competed in the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR)Oration Contest. Students are judged in the contest on their ability to create and present a speech about the American Revolution. This year, freshman Matthew Karen took third place, junior Jamie Thompson took second place, and Harley Ganna came in first.

Harley advanced to the state competition that will be held on February 4.  The winner of the state competition will represent the state of Florida SAR at the national competition in Boston.

All three students worked very hard and dedicated time outside of class toward the contest. The members of the Sons of the American Revolution were impressed with the speeches and the students, and they did a wonderful job representing both themselves and Montverde Academy! Congratulations, students!
