Arnaldo Carlo-Melendez, Montverde Academy Upper School Mathematics teacher, recently informed MVA Communications that many students did very well in the AMERICAN SCHOLASTIC MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATION (ASMA) contest that was conducted this month by the MVA Mathematics Club.

The ASMA’s annual contest is for junior, intermediate and senior high schools “…serving internationally since 1982.”  As a winning top 5% school, MVA student participants who received the high scores, along with club advisers Mr. Arnaldo Carlo-Melendez and Mathematics Department Chair Ms. Candace Dietrich, will be receiving engraved award plaques.

Rich Plass, Chairman, ASMA, notified the Academy, “We congratulate all schools on their awards. The award certificates were mailed by First Class mail to all US and Canadian schools and Air Mail to our International Schools.  Plaques to the schools listed (below) are mailed by Priority mail in mid-May.”
