Congratulations to Chase DeJarnett, a Montverde Academy sophomore, who was recently selected as a Delegate to the Congress of Future Science & Technology Leaders event being held in Lowell, Massachusetts, from June 29 – July 1, 2016. Chase, a day student, is the 2nd Montverde Academy Upper School student selected to the Congress of Future Science & Technology Leaders in 2016 – the other student was Jonathan Antor, a Montverde Academy junior.
Chase was nominated by Ms. Sheree Bose. Ms. Bose is a member of Harvard University’s class of 2016, majoring in cellular and molecular biology. Shree is a tireless, global advocate for STEM education and was named one of Glamour Magazine’s Top 10 College Women of 2015. At MVA, Chase serves on the Montverde Academy Honor Council and is a current member of Key Club. Even with a challenging schedule of academic classes, he makes time to swim on the Montverde Academy high school and club teams.
Chase is extremely proud to represent Montverde Academy as a Delegate. The education received through this Congress will help to further Chase’s dream of a career in the field of Biology. According to the CFSTL, the program is tailored towards high school students “…who are passionate about science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). The purpose of the event is to honor, inspire, motivate, and direct the top students in the United States who aspire to be scientists and technologists, to stay true to their dream and, after the event, to provide a path, plan and resources to help them reach their goal.”
