Our Montverde Lady Eagles Soccer team travelled out of state to Texas from January 6th – 10th to compete in the 2016 National Elite Prep Showcase.  There were 34 teams from across the country in the tournament.  Our Lady Eagles had a fantastic run, winning 2 games and losing only 1.  Lady Eagles beat Vandergrift 3-1 in their opening game,  lost 2-0 to pre-season #1 ranked South Carroll High School, and finished strong with a 4-0 win over tournament host Nolan Catholic.

Upon his return to MVA, Coach Robbie Aristodemo stated, “Travelling to Ft. Worth was a great experience, not only did we play well but we bonded as a group.  To play top teams on their home turf was a great challenge and something that helps prepare our young ladies for the adversities in college.  Road games are sometimes the best games to play as it’s us vs the world mentality.  I’m proud of how we played and responded.”  The Lady Eagles finished their season with 14 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie – scoring 77 goals, giving up only 8.  They won Montverde Academy’s 3rd Annual WIST Soccer Tournament, and were ranked as high as #1 in United States by USA TODAY High School Girls Pre-Season Winter Soccer Poll – and in the top 25 in the USA by Topdrawersoccer.com (*Final rankings pending).

WINGS UP!! Go Lady Eagles!
