Last month, Montverde Academy’s Lower School was inducted into the Luminary Society of the University of Central Florida.  According to their mission statement, UCF’s Luminary Society “… recognizes the generosity and vision of donors to UCF’s College of Education and Human Performance who have made gifts totaling $1,000 or more in the previous year. Members count themselves among the college’s and the university’s closest friends… they also serve as strong examples, inspiring philanthropy among alumni and friends of the college.”

Montverde Academy’s Lower School was inducted into UCF’s Luminary Society at a private ceremony held at the University of Central Florida campus.  MVA’s Lower School was selected for the recent honor primarily because of their steadfast community service and contributions to the UCF-Jackson Center Reading Camp for children, located in the Paramore region of Orlando, Florida, that provides books and reading instruction by teachers and UCF graduate school students for regional underprivileged children. The reading camps are held at both the John H. Jackson Community Center, located at 1002 West Carter Street, and the Dr. J.B. Callahan Neighborhood Center, at 101 North Parramore Avenue.
