After a stalemate first game vs. Navarre High School, the Lady Eagles came out flying in their next 2 games.  Tallying 9 goals for and 1 against state powers Ponte Vedra and Vero Beach.  Winning wasn’t the main concern for the tournament but it helps keep the Montverde Academy Lady Eagles in the running for a top national ranking.  With 15 college coaches on hand and plenty more viewing on-line, the tournament was a great success.  Coach Aristodemo states “… putting on a tournament is a great deal of work for everyone involved, but we felt it was worth it in the end.  To expose our kids to colleges coaches and higher level games was our main goal.” Teams in attendance were Bolles, Ponte Vedra, Flagler Palm coast, Merritt Island, Navarre, Newsome and Vero Beach.

Montverde Academy is now 12-1-1 and travels to the NEPS tournament in Ft.Worth, Texas, January 6-10th – a tournament that brings over 30 teams from over 4 states and is considered the best girls high school soccer tournaments in the country.   “We are going to texas to showcase our players and play 3 competitive games.  We have been drawn with the #1 team in the nation on their home turf.  Challenging our kids is the best thing I can do as a coach, playing on the road vs. better teams is the only way to do it.  We are excited to travel and expose our program,” added Coach Aristodemo.
