The 2015-16 season for Montverde Academy’s Girls’ Varsity Soccer Program is well underway and gearing up for some great events.  The team has been working hard and as of November 19th, their record is 6-1.  On December 11th and 12th, the program will be hosting the third annual Women’s Invitational Showcase Tournament (WIST).  Last year the team’s record was 19-0-1 which led to a #1 National Ranking by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as well as a #8 ranking by Top Drawer Soccer.  For the 2015-16 season, Top Drawer Soccer ranked the Lady Eagles #21 in a pre-season poll.

For the past two years, the showcase has included 4 teams but this year the tournament has expanded to 8 teams.  The teams in attendance are some of the top in the state: The Bolles School, Flagler Palm Coast High School, Merritt Island High School, Navarre High School, Newsome High School, Ponte Vedra High School, and Vero Beach High School.  Please view WIST Brackets.

2015’s WIST will be a great level of competition and will help prepare the girls for another tournament in January, when the team will be traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the National Elite Prep Showcase.   The trip will be a great opportunity to play against top out-of-state teams as well as gain exposure to many college coaches.  The Lady Eagles are looking forward to both showcases as well as keeping the momentum going for the remainder of their regular season schedule.  Head coach, Robbie Aristodemo, says “We look forward to hosting the best tournament in the state of Florida as well as competing in the National Elite Prep Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas.  Our mission is to expose our girls to as many high level games as possible, and to provide them as much exposure to college coaches around the country.”
