Dozens of MVA Girls Varsity Volleyball team parents were in attendance at a meeting, held last night inside MVA’s Center for Sportsmanship and Wellness (“The Nest”), as Montverde Academy officially launched our campaign to raise funds for a proposed Sand Volleyball Complex.

The Academy is seeking public support for the construction of both the sports complex and the development of a sand volleyball program.  Once completed, Montverde Academy’s outdoor sand volleyball courts will provide the unique opportunity for our high-school volleyball players to receive NCAA scholarships for either indoor or outdoor university beach volleyball programs.

No other coeducational independent private high school in the Nation has initiated a funding campaign to support this ever-growing sport; the most watched sport of the Olympics.  Added to the NCAA in 2012, 16 teams then competed.  Now that list has grown to 55 competitive D1 women collegiate volleyball teams. In the next few weeks, MVA will be requesting tax-deductible contributions from the MVA community to support our prospective sand volleyball projects.  Any  questions regarding Montverde Academy’s new outdoor beach volleyball program, Sand Volleyball Complex, naming opportunities and ways to contribute to the campaign, can be directed to Mr. Chris Mitchell, Director of Development and Government Relations at
