Last month, 2nd year MVA Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach Mrs. Rachel Adams told MVA Communications, “After much training in the off season, our returning varsity players are more than ready to hit the ground running towards their goal of a deep run in the post-season. We have a perfect balance of seasoned upperclassmen paired with the hustling presence of talented underclassmen who are revved up and ready to prove themselves.” That balance was especially demonstrated in last night’s thrilling AWAY victory over South Lake High School. The Lady Eagles team won 3-0 and ended the victorious match: 25-22, 25-13, 25-21.

Read about the game in today’s Daily Commercial“Montverde Academy has too much firepower on volleyball court for South Lake”.

The Lady Eagles play tomorrow at HOME vs. Jones High School, and then Friday/Saturday in the Lake Highland Prep/Winter Park Showcase (in Orlando, Florida).  Lady Eagles JV team played well, but suffered a tough 0-2 loss.  Nonetheless, the season is young, and Coach Adams feels the JV squad is positively developing and victory will soon follow.  MVA Girls Varsity Volleyball’s current record is 4-0, and our JV squad’s current record is 1-1.  The Montverde Academy Middle-school Volleyball team’s first game was played AWAY yesterday (Tuesday, September 8th, 2015) against First Academy (Leesburg, Florida).  First Academy defeated MVA’s M.S. Volleyball team 2-0 (25-20, 25-18), but Coach Tom Narducci informed Montverde Communications that MVA’s M.S team “…did a great job with only one practice under their belts as the first match was of course on our first day of school.” MVA’s M.S. Volleyball team plays tomorrow afternoon in McQuaig Gymnasium vs. Real Life at 4:30pm.
