“If you watch a game, it’s fun.  If you play it, it’s recreational.  If you work at it, it’s golf.”

Bishops Gate Golf Academy (BGGA), a junior golf academy in academic partnership with Montverde Academy, allows BGGA boarding students enrolled in MVA classes the option of training in after-school golf programs and participating in year-round junior golf competitions.  Montverde Academy students from ages 12 – 18 who meet BGGA’s overall junior golf proficiency standards can register to attend BGGA’s unique and positively motivating full-time junior golf program.

Located in nearby Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, BGGA Full-Time Junior Program is currently accepting applications for its upcoming fall semester.  BGGA’s Junior Program focuses on building academic excellence, strength of character, and achieving peak golf performance.  A strong emphasis is also placed on the personal development and constructive alignment of values so junior golfers can achieve the highest levels of success in all aspects of their lives.  With over 50,000 square feet of course-like training space, 45,000 square feet of putting and short-game practice area, 15,000 square feet of bunkers, and an 11-hole golf course playable in 22 different ways, BGGA’s coaching team uses a world-class training facility to train students how to best execute their game in various golf course conditions every day.

In related news, MVA/BGGA senior Marcos Montenegro fired a second-round 68 to recover from a first-round 75, and closed-out the Argentinian National Junior Golf Championship. This was good enough for second-place in one of Argentina’s most prestigious junior tournaments (T2 finish at 1-over-par 143).  Last month, Montenegro shot a round-1 65 and round-2 69 to qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship held in Bluffton, South Carolina, July 20-25, and then golfed very respectfully in that junior golf tournament.

According to BGGA, “…the best word that describes this program is individual. We do not give the same student the same program, because everyone has different strengths, tendencies, experiences and areas of improvement…experience at Bishops Gate Golf Academy is all about you, the individual. The facilities, staff, housing, coaches, and training all work to develop an environment that is most beneficial to each and every one of our students’ unique needs.”  Bishop’s Gate Golf Academy’s unique training environment allows you to train in golf course conditions every day.  Click here to learn more about BGGA and to take a virtual tour of the BGGA facility.
