Dear Students and Parents:

As we prepare to enter the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year, MVA’s Administration Office has collaborated with the MVA Upper-school faculty with regard to proposed changes in our assembly program. As a result, some changes will be made as follows:

  • Monday short assembly program in “The Nest” 7:45 a.m. – 7:55 a.m.
  • Tuesday traditional advisory meetings with academic advisors 7:45 a.m. – 7:55 a.m.
  • Wednesday long assembly program in “The Nest” 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • Thursday traditional advisory meetings with academic advisors 7:45 a.m. – 7:55 a.m.
  • Friday short assembly program in “The Nest” 7:45 a.m. – 7:55 a.m.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, MVA Upper-school students who do not drive to campus should be dropped off at “The Nest” for the assembly programs; on Tuesdays and Thursdays, upper school students should be dropped off on 9th Street at the drop off lane at the new upper school; parents should avoid the campus loop to avoid congestion with the middle school drop off. Students should plan to arrive no later than 7:40 a.m. as the assembly program will begin promptly at 7:45 a.m; students arriving late will receive a tardy referral to the Dean of Students Office. Attendance and dress code will be reviewed each morning either in assembly or advisory.

Parents whose children will arrive late or not at all due to illness or medical related appointments must contact the school office to report that information and when the student arrives back to school that day or the following day, should provide a note from the treating physician. Please review the Academy’s policy in the handbook posted on line with regard to the maximum number of days a student can miss school during the school year to be transitioned to the next grade level in keeping with our accreditation requirements.

Thank you,

Montverde Academy Headmaster’s Office
