“The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact
with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit and freedom.”

~ Sharon Ralls Lemon

There are several important and fundamental techniques to riding a horse with enthusiasm, inspiration, and focus.  A rider who is aware of these essential principles can also create a companionship equally gratifying for the horse. Montverde Academy will be holding an their 2015 Boys and Girls Equestrian Camps in two sessions next month.  Session One is for ages 8-14 (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and will take place August 10th– 14th. Session Two will follow from August 17th-21st.  Cost for the camp is $250 per week, and campers will learn important aspects of horse riding instruction, painting horses, and general equine studies.

At the camp, children will be assigned a horse for the week, and guest speakers are scheduled to share their fundamentals and equestrian expertise.  Lunch will also be included daily.

According to Mrs. Sara Womack-Layden, Montverde Academy Equestrian Center Manager, “There are still spots open for MVA’s Equestrian Camp! We welcome all levels of riders and horse enthusiasts to participate. Horsemanship plays a big role in riding and handling horses so we will emphasize that as well the English disciplines.  We will discuss Hunter seat, Dressage seat, and Jumpers during our riding and classroom times. This is a great opportunity to work with passionate instructors on knowledgeable mounts.”
