Robert Plant, lead singer of the influential British Rock band Led Zeppelin once said, “I don’t know how much more expressive you can get than being a rock and roll singer.” Mr. Brad Pagan, an Arnold Hall Resident Faculty Dorm Parent, informed that many of his dorm students feel the same way!  On Saturday May 9th, 2015, local Arnold Hall musicians and vocalists were rocking their dormitory’s front porch!  According to Mr. Pagan, some have wrote their own songs and others play and sing covers of “some of the greats.” According to Mr. pagan, “When we all do it at the same time you never know what you’re going to get!  The concert promptly ends at 9PM to stay within local city ordinance. It’s a great stress reliever and a chance for some real talent to show through!

Apparently, Arnold Hall’s boarders like to “rock-out” from time to time.  Last semester, on Friday, November 28th, 2014, the dormitory held a “Karaoke” Christmas party for those MVA students staying on-campus over Thanksgiving.  Read about that fun and musical dorm activity, please visit HERE.

In other MVA dormitory activities, Carpenter Hall held a “Watermelon Party” on Thursday, April 28th, 2015.   Mr. Dalton Monroe, a Carpenter Hall Resident Dorm Parent, told, “The boys and I like to get together every once in a while to exchange ideas on various items.  I know they enjoy things like ice cream and watermelon – so I try to have one of these to add to the experience.  It took place In Carpenter Hall before study hall on Tuesday 4/28 and the watermelon was finished very quickly. The boys from China were shocked when I put salt on my watermelon I guess they use sugar.  All in all, this event was an opportunity for us all to laugh together – which I have always felt important.”
