On Saturday April 11, 2015, Montverde Academy held its 2015 “Brazilian Fest” from 7:30 PM-9:45 PM inside MVA’s McQuaig Gym. The annual student cultural event celebrated the heritage and multiple cultures of Brazil, and was originally scheduled to be in the patio of the MVA Alumni and Development Office. But because the weather forecast of 80% chance of rain, MVA administration staffers promptly decided to move the scheduled event in-doors. Montverde Academy students enjoyed authentic Brazilian food from Pao Gostoso Bakery, located on I-Drive, in Orlando, Florida, and were also treated to amazing Brazilian music throughout the entire evening of celebration.

In an email written to Montverde.org, Mr. Jerry Matos, MVA Dean of Students, stated “At one point we started the bonfire in the patio located between the two gyms because it was not raining, and the students went outside to eat Smores, to play the guitar and sing some songs. However, around 30 – 45 minutes later it started to rain so we had to go back inside. Other than the weather, the event was fun and educational.”
