The Academy’s annual “Wedding of Q and U” ceremony was held on Monday, March 30, 2015, during the Montverde Academy Lower-school assembly that began promptly at 8:00 AM inside the Roberts Gymnasium. The Wedding of Q and U is a MVA Kindergarten tradition at the Lower School. Led by Mrs. Shackelford, Dean of the Montverde Academy Lower-school, and assisted by several MVA Lower-school teachers, the annual observance, for all intents and purposes, was fundamentally a “make-believe nuptial ceremony” – an activity created for MVA Kindergarten students to participate in, and that metaphorically stressed the union and co-dependence of the letters “Q and U” (practically all official English words starting with Q will be followed by the letter U).

Many MVA parents, staff and faculty attended this entertaining school event that allowed Kindergarten girls to wear princess dresses, and Kindergarten boys to dress in football uniforms/jerseys for their wedding apparel before being united in symbolic matrimony through the marriage of letters Q and U.
