The Montverde Academy Parents’ Association’s first annual “Family Day on the Farm” will be a day of fun for the entire family! The event will be held at Lake Catherine Blueberry Farm, of Groveland, Florida, on Saturday April 18th, 2015, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The cost is $10 per person and will include a BBQ lunch, Dessert by Ritter’s Frozen Custard, live music, pony rides, rock wall, face painting, archery and air boat rides, and much more! According to Ms. Kalena Meyers, Dean of Institutional Advancement, “We are really excited for this new event for our MVA families. We have already sold almost 200 tickets and it is always a great day when you can spend time with your family and your MVA friends in a fun and safe environment. The day will be filled with all kinds of activities for all ages!” Each family will also receive one pint of blueberries but are also able to purchase additional blueberries to take home to enjoy if they wish. In related news, the next PA meeting is Thursday, April 9th, 2015, and not the usual first Friday, because of MVA’s scheduled parent/teacher conference day. The meeting will be at the dining hall at 8:30 AM. There will be a “surprise guest speaker,” and the group will discuss family day and teacher appreciation week. The first teacher appreciation meeting will be after the general PA meeting.
