On Friday March 13th, 2015, Montverde Academy’s K-Kids, a Lower-school community service club affiliated with Kiwanis International, held their 2015 fund-raising dinner at the Clermont City Center, located in downtown Clermont, Florida. The social event was organized to raise money for New Beginnings of Central Florida, “a faith-based , Not-for-profit organization helping the HOMELESS learn to live responsible lives by making good choices to recover from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups.”

Montverde.org news has learned that forty Lower-school students sold nearly one-hundred and seventy tickets for the special occasion – a “Hawaiian Luau” themed event. Tickets for adults were $20.00, and $10.00 for children. MVA K-Kids also hosted the annual affair, and served, entertained, and assisted parents throughout the night. By the night’s end, Montverde Academy K-Kids had raised $2,300 for New Beginnings of Clermont. Taki’s Greek/Italian restaurant, an “authentic Greek and Italian food in the heart of The Villages, Florida,” catered the charitable dinner for free. Clermont Shirt Shack donated shirts for all the students and guests that attendees. Last month, Montverde Academy’s K-Kids won the 1st Place award in the Silver Category of the 2013-2014 Florida K-Kids Children and Youth Service annual honors. The award presented annually to those K-Kids clubs that “…demonstrate originality and creativity in promoting program significance, and community impact.”
