Montverde Academy’s 7th annual Night for the Cure, a school charity event to raise money for the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation, will be held THIS FRIDAY, March 20th , 2015, from 6:00 PM to 11:15 PM, on-campus at the MVA Sports Complex. MVA faculty, staff, students, and their families are urged to support of this worthy and philanthropic effort. Mr. Kyle Clapper, Upper-school History teacher, serves as Night For the Cure’s director. He has informed Montverde.org, “The 2015 Night for the Cure is shaping up to the best ever! … Just as in years past there will be food, games, dunk tanks, bounce houses, music, Luminaries, and more.”
The event typically involves event participants and sponsors walking in various groups and teams, symbolically passing a commemorative NFC baton to other team members also walking in rounds around the track. Attendees also purchase NFC Luminary candles (then set alight) and placed on the NFC walker’s route – around the facility’s track – in memory of loved ones who’ve have passed away from a cancer illness. Montverde Academy SGA, NHS, and Key Club (as well as other clubs) will be on-site with informational booths providing information on their club or organization and approved merchandise. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. Entertainment has also been scheduled that include musical performances, a hilarious “dunk-tank,” and an amusing bounce house.
* Montverde Academy’s 2015 Night For the Cure is a ticket currency, and non-public event. Student accounts and cash may be used to purchase tickets at the event. Each ticket is $1.00. Teams will not be handling any cash at the event.
