During a recent March Upper-school Assembly, The Central Florida Consortium of Private School Counselors awarded Montverde Academy junior Drew Boodhan a $200 scholarship! The award was based on a random drawing and awarded to a student who attended the mandatory 12th Annual Central Florida College Fair that was held at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Central Florida, Student Union, Pegasus Ballroom in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM. All MVA juniors were required to attend to college event.  The Central Florida Consortium of Private School Counselors is “…committed to preparing students for college through establishing a network of college counseling professionals, promoting best practices among schools and providing greater opportunity and accessibility to higher education.”

According to of Ms. Felicia Williams, Montverde Academy’s Director of College Guidance, the annual Central Florida College Fair allowed for “…130 admission representatives from colleges and universities across the US interact with students to discuss admission and financial aid opportunities… This is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet with representatives one-on one to find out specific information pertaining to academic programs, majors, extra-curricular activities, etc.” 2015 graduating MVA seniors have been accepted to schools for next fall, and others are very focused and continuing to apply/await acceptances from to colleges and universities. All students are welcomed to attend scheduled university/college visits and questions regarding registration can be made by contacting Montverde Academy College Guidance personnel of Ms. Felicia Williams, Director of College Guidance, Mrs. Karla Lafferty, Assistant Director of College Guidance, or Mrs. Mary Prescott, College Guidance Assistant.
